Return to the Brain of Eden:Restoring the Connection between Neurochemistry and Consciousness by Tony Wright and Graham Gynn
This is an interesting and well researched book about how humans thrive on a high fruit diet. Drawing from fossil remains, anthropological, zoological and physiological sources, it describes how the ancestral diet was predominantly fruit based and how crucial fruit is for health – particularly that of the brain. It goes further, proposing that our ancestors were ambidextrous and that the left brain dominance that has created the culture we live in today and a suppression of intuition and peak experiences, is a direct result of both a decrease in fruit and the comparatively recent introduction of animal foods and later grains into the diet. A fascinating read.
